Somewhere...over the rainbow =)

I was inspired by color! I just love colors! All sorts of colors. When we bought our house I made sure that all the rooms were different colors (light blue, lavender, light green, beige, and yellow...yes my walls are yellow in my kitchen). =) Maybe that just means I'm a colorful person? I try to be. =) But unfortunately people are quick to judge and not very many people see me for the person I really am. I think making miniatures is a way to express yourself. It's kind of an outlet I think. At least for me it is. It is relaxing and I enjoy it very much. And in the end I feel like I've accomplished something. Oh the joys of being a stay at home mom. =) Yes I do get bored sometimes but I have taken this chance to explore what I love to do best. And I think I have found it! Photography and miniatures...besides being a mom of course. =) I love spending so much time with my kids. So, in between housework and taking care of my kids I make mini things. I think I am trying to squeeze in as much mini making before the weather gets better because during the summer I do not really touch my polymer clay at all. (ehmmm last summer I went away and left my clay in the kitchen on the counter, and when I came back to use it again it was pretty dry and cracked but I managed to get it nice and soft again, of course I didn't know how to store it properly back then since I had just started playing with clay) ... =)

I tried making rainbow cupcakes many months ago. Never again will I make them. Not only did I NOT have the right food colors (I could not find any neon colors anywhere around here!) so my colors came out really yucky looking. lol I covered them with frosting and sprinkles though and they weren't that bad. My daughter loved them at least. lol =) Anyway, I made a mini rainbow cake last night. And little candies to go with it. =) I couldn't help myself. I love color!

P.S. I love making my own mini knives! I need to make more =) That and more mini forks and dishes.
